I am married to Rawiri Wihapi, who is the ex Principal of Mokoia Intermediate School. We have two children and three mokopuna. Our son Kihiroa and his partner Rauhina, their children Ketia, Wani and Kaawan and our daughter Aritaarita. They are of Ngati Kuri, Ngati Whatua, Tainui and Te Arawa descent.

 

I have been teaching for the past 33 years and have worked for the Ministry of Education. During this time I have developed skills to be a very experienced teacher and leader.  

 

I have been Principal of Lake Rotoma School for 5 years I enjoy teaching and the many benefits it has to offer. I will do my best to support, encourage and be a voice for our Rotoma Community, especially the tamariki.

 

I believe we should strive to do our personal best to achieve the highest possible standards of learning in all endeavours that life has to offer. I am committed to be a visible, approachable and transparent Principal and look forward to forming strong relationships with students, parents, community, local hapu/iwi and staff by maintaining high levels of communication and positive, progressive engagement.
